I'm gonna go with meh! First impression walking in last night was a guy working here who I could barely hear muttering I had to wait for him to cut some meat. Okay, so like I'm suppose to stare at you, and wait. I had already taken time to look at the menu a bit. At least the other three girls I encountered were more helpful and friendly. I ordered the Friday special which was pulled pork, two sides, drink, and ice cream for like $8.49 or something like that. My sides were baked potato casserole and fried okra. Baked potato casserole is just a fancy way of saying mashed potatoes, and fried okra didn't taste like anything, and totally wasn't worth the fried calories. The pulled pork portion was the size half of your palm, so serious about that, and a small roll. That equals meh! The best part of this location is that it's next to Latin Cafe, and Hungry Greek, another deli type place, and an Italian restaurant. Go in a group, and pretend it's a food court. People can get food from different areas if they all have a taste for something different. I will no longer deviate from my norm, which is one of those other food options I mentioned. Last night I wanted something different, and it was a fail. Oh well.

So good. Was staying at a hotel a few miles away for a weekend convention and ate 4 meals in a row here over the weekend. Really cheap for how big the portions are.

I really liked this place. I've had other chain bbq and this by far is my fav! I had the pulled pork sandwich, fries and green beans and loved it! Also, cant beat kids eat free on Sunday with a good size portion!

I know Dickey's is a franchise so I will keep this short as there is only so much to say. What I like about them is they are fast and affordable. most of the meat is way to dry, thats something they need to fix, but the ribs and sides are great. I have tried ALL the meats! Here is a quick break down of what I think: Pork Ribs: BEST, really fantastic fall of the bone, not greasy at all Beef Brisket: ok but very dry, not a lot of flavor, I wish it was better. BBQ Honey Ham: its ok also dry, I'm not much of a ham guy, too sweet for me. Spicy Cheddar Sausage: to spicy on its own, this would be good on a sandwich, it needs bread Polish Sausage: average, not very smoky, would pass on this one. Turkey Breast: good, smoky on the outside, still a bit dry Chicken breast: good, but VERY VERY dry, smoky, almost like chicken jerky. I like their warm BBQ sauce, I the Original is best but the Sweet and Spicy are also good. They have 12 sides, I like them all. Its 100% up to you what you like but trust me they are all done well. I do wish they offered some sort of collard greens. As far as improvements go, they do free ice-cream but it's gross. Skip that stuff! The atmosphere could be better. The Signage is obnoxious and gives a very generic feel to the place. I wish it was a little more warm and inviting. Instead it has a very fake cartoon feel to it kind of like McDonalds.

Well I keep trying this place and they keep getting worse. A friend really wanted BBQ but I was insisting there was nothing in new Tampa that was any good. He saw dickeys and offered to buy... Even for free I should have known better...the food was dry and the portions seemed even smaller than I had remembered . my friend was also disappointed and he was stuck with the check... The free ice cream also seemed to disappoint him... Owner was there...if I was paying I would have asked for a refund on the overpriced food... My friend doest lime confrontation. There are two much better options in this strip center and one much worse one ..I'll let you figure that out! Never coming back...new Tampa needs better BBQ options...

Not the best BBQ I've ever had, but it is pretty good. I really liked my pulled pork sandwich with sides of potato casserole and Mac n cheese. However, the prices were much more expensive than I expected for a fast food restaurant and the portions were very small (lunch for my husband and myself was about $27, which in my opinion was too expensive considering the portion sizes). We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed, so we took our food to go. The food was prepared quickly. If I'm really in the mood for barbecue, I may return (as there are few barbecue options that I've seen in the area), but next time I will probably stick with whatever the daily special is.

I gotta join the average and give 3 stars. Staff was great, dining area clean, and a nice concept. My first thought was this is Shane's rib shack all over again and I gotta say I'm not far off the mark. The food is cooked in some kind of modern stainless steel cooker, I smell no smoke, I see no wood and the meat reflects that. No smoke ring, no smoke smell, no smoke taste. Good sides but nothing to die for, a southern sweet tea that was very good and free soft serve ice cream. I did a little head math an the specials seem to be the best deals in the house. Other than that this is expensive BBQ and the portions seem small. The perception is not a lot of value. The was one highlight and it came in the form of a spicy cheese smoked sausage. They offer 3 sauces an original, a sweet, and a spicy sauce. I will say our food was served quickly so if you need a quick in and out lunch BBQ than this might serve your needs but if you like authentically cooked and tasting, a real BBQ experience than Dickeys may be a bit too much corporate/franchised flavor for you.

This Dickeys was disappointing. I never had Dickeys until I was in Dallas Texas last week on vacation. I stopped in and was hooked. When I found out there was one in Westly Chapel I was stoked. The meat was severely over cooked. The ribs were chewy and the brisket was dry. They didn't even have butter for there bread rolls. I guess bbq is just better in Texas!

Well if you find yourself in the New Tampa / Meadow point area and get a craving for some BBQ you must try this place out. Even though it's not a mom & pop BBQ joint it still gets 4 stars from me. The brisket was so tasty and juicy with loads of smoke and flavor. There three sauces all served nice and warm add that lil extra flavor to there already awesome meat.. As for the sides well they were just as tasty as the BBQ. So if you find yourself nearby and hungry make sure you give them a try...

Seems each time I come to Dickey's the quality of the food continues to spiral down. This used to be my favorite place to get some delicious BBQ, but the last few times I've had tiny pieces of bone in my pulled pork. Just not what I am expecting when biting into a pulled pork sandwich. The fried okra is always pipping hot and fresh, but the mac/cheese, baked potato casserole and baked beans just have been mediocre. I can only speak on the pulled pork because I have never had anything else but they offer an array of different meats on their menu (ribs, brisket, ham, sausage, turkey and chicken). They have a original bbq sauce, sweet and hot...I prefer the sweet. BEST offer at Dickey's -- Kids eat free on Sundays and free ice cream everyday! The ice cream is delicious -- taste a lot like homemade :) Oh! and the iced tea is devine! -- real southern sweet tea. I will probably give this place another try -- I will just make sure there are no bone fragments in my meat.

This is a small little barbeque place in Wesley Chapel in a strip mall across from the new hospital. Best part about it is that they have a drive thru! They have nightly specials on different items, so it's definitely affordable. Food is okay, just nothing special. If you have a craving for BBQ, this will do the trick. I actually prefer Sonny's up the road a couple of miles, but Sonny's doesn't have the free soft serve ice cream like Dickey's does. Their sweet tea is good and their BBQ sauce "bar" is pretty cool. Again, just nothing too special. It's BBQ. Standard fare. Friendly employees. Small place.

All the free ice cream in the world couldn't make up for the crap food. I've never had a mcrib but I bet that's better quality barbecue.

Very good! I am a very difficult customer and found the food great! I got worried about the bad reviews and found out they are kind of bogus...people need to lightened up! This is BBQ level comparable to what I had in Texas.

I'd say the BBQ was average, nothing incredibly amazing..and I wouldn't drive out to WC specifically to come here. Their meat/poultry is served dry, where you can pick your own sauces at a self serve station (choice of spicy, sweet or dickeys). I had their pork ribs, which were pretty tender and fall off the bone, with slaw (average), onion strings (way to salty) and cheddar links (too much pepper). And don't forget the AUCE ice cream.

Yeah, this place is like the McDonald's of BBQ. I got their BBQ burger with pulled pork. I was expecting the meat to be marinated in something with flavor, but no. Just the meat. There is a BBQ sauce bar, with three flavors (Spicy [has a lot of cayenne pepper in it], Sweet, and Original Dickey's Sauce). The sandwich was alright once I drenched the meat in BBQ sauce. The waffle iron fries are well done. The price though was insane. A meal is about $11 per person. The Yelp deal is also just lame since they advertise on the front of the place that you get free soft serve ice cream anyway. Although the soft serve is a nice addition, I've had better BBQ (Dale's in Ft. Pierce), and at a better price. I wont say don't give it a try since it's edible.

Ok, so i actually worked here for a small period of time, and i will tell you know. All of the side dishes are pretty much frozen food. all of the fried items are pre packaged frozen food too. The meat is alright, the prices are INSANE. I worked here and didn't even get a free meal or anything for free, only half price off of ONE meal and it had to be for me. I found that the owners and the restaurant is very cheap, and i mean that not in a good way. The ingredients are not good and the food is nothing i would ever recommend anyone to eat. If you think of crappy american restaurant that just try to make money and don't actually have a passion for food or what they are doing, it is this place. Would not recommend this place to anyone, frozen ingredients, not fresh, food taste very plain. Overall a BBQ fastfood place in my eyes, and those two just don't work together. Its like mcdonalds Mc Ribb. Oh yeah not to mention, their prices are outrageous. You will spend like $12 on a plate for yourself if you are actually hungry. Some may say that is not a lot of money, but for what ingredients they are using its ridiculous, you can eat at a place that serves organic fresh ingredients and pay the same price or even cheaper because the amount of food they give you is not a big portion at all.

Sometimes you have to rate a place for what they are. Dickey's is not my favorite Que joint around but when you aren't near a favorite and have a hankering for some smoked goodness Dickey's is there. The meats are all good and the sides are typical but not out of this world. You get consistency at an affordable price. And hey you get free soft serve!

After two dozen or more trips and spending hundreds of dollars I think I am ALL DONE with Dickeys. The trips get progressivly worse, culminating with several dime size bone chunks found in the pulled pork. Granted it is pulled pork.. but it should be handled better. The ever rotating staff of young, uninterested kids that work there seems to be the norm. I asked the manager to look at the bones and she actually just shrugged and said "Oh we got to do a better job", but did not offer a cleaner plate of pork. On the positive side, free ice cream and pickles. By the way, if you are expecting to get your plate served as it is in the pictures with pickles and sliced onion you will not get it. You have to specifically ask for onion and pickle, otherwise they will not include them. Also, if your a fan of fried Okra, theirs is hard to beat.

Had a rib plate today. Ribs: meat was tough, not tender. Baked beans: rather plain. Cole Slaw: didn't stand out. Bread: ok. Service: : Friendly

I'd have to agree with most reviews. It's average BBQ. We have been coming here since they opened & it really has gone down hill. It's still ok just not holy hog standard & def not Texas BBQ (salt lick or Smittys) by a long shot. My kids like it so we will still go on occasion. If you do give it a try the spicy cheddar sausage is usually good & the Mac n cheese is tasty.

Solidly mediocre. While the place is spacious and the choices abundant, the food itself is largely forgettable, standard fare. The unlimited, free pickled spears are a nice, and surprisingly good bonus, however. I had the Texas chopped brisket, which was at least 40% fat, making it a textural nightmare, not to mention rather unpleasant tasting. The fried okra is perhaps the best item on the menu, finding that happy medium of crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The staff seemed somewhat disorganized and both the ice cream machine and the ice dispenser at the soda fountain were out of order, with staff seemingly disinclined to do anything about it with any haste. You can probably find better value, quality, and service at your local Sonny's BBQ.

Great BBQ joint. Huge portions, 3 great sauces (very thin though, if that's an issue for you). Terrific sides, especially the baked potato casserole. Oh, and free ice cream.

Welcome to the McDonald's of BBQ. If you have a craving for BBQ and not much time than Dickeys is your place. This place is mostly carry out but can service a small crowd of people with about 10 small tables inside and about 5 small tables outside on the very small walk. I went with a party of 6 and we ordered the brisket and pulled pork with sides of coleslaw, potato salad and mashed potatoes. The meat was done well brisket was good and the pork was average, but had no real BBQ flavor to them. The coleslaw tasted like some you can get at KFC, and the potato salad is some mashed cold potato salad of which I've never had and hopefully will not again. We tried the fried Okra as well and I was very pleased with it as it was hot and crunchy and very well done. There is no service as you serve yourself, but the people who worked there were very friendly. The best part of the meal were for sure their pickles. They were very crunchy and just all around delicious. Bonus if you eat there you get free all you can eat ice cream at the end of your meal. I probably will not eat there again but wouldn't shame a friend if they told me that's where they were going.

BBQ meat is tender and nice but BBQ sauce a little watered down and not that rich.

Stuffing my face with their sausage was deeply satisfying and the creamy cheese filling made it that much better. Who knew you could have so much meat and it be so smoking hot! The sauce really spices things up. Be sure to get that selfie dickey pic cause you'll want to remember this experience. Oh and there are two entrances so you can go in the back door. Be sure to grab extra napkins to get the white stuff off your face cause you're going to want a free ice cream cone!

It was okay. Ham was dry. Felt rushed when ordering. Even after telling the guy it was our first time there. Chicken and pulled pork was good. Kids eat free on Sundays. Kids had chicken nuggets and waffle fires.... Oil needs to be changed. Food came out dark bc of oil. We might be back. Hopefully Brooksville location will open soon.

Great waffle fries! Chicken, pork, sliced beef are all awesome! Coleslaw is good but it could be sweeter. Sauces are good as well!
